Montgomery Job Corps, along with partner school James Madison High School (http://www.JMHS.com/), honored 54 high school graduates during its winter commencement. The ceremony was held at the Montgomery Job Corps Center in Montgomery, AL on Friday, January 27, 2012.
Joined by family, friends and school and Job Corps administration, graduates were recognized individually as they crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. The ceremony was officiated by Mr. Frank Coiro, Center Director.
During the ceremony, Swaniqua Jackson of Mobile, AL was awarded a scholarship to Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu), James Madison High Schools parent company, so that they can continue their education by earning Associate Degrees.
Were proud of the accomplishments of all of our graduates. Were also very excited that Swaniqua was selected to receive a scholarship, said Ms. Glenco Howard, Montgomery Job Corps High School Diploma Instructor. She came to the Montgomery Job Corps Center to pursue her high school diploma and to receive career training in order to work as a clinical medical assistant. Her final GPA was 3.17.
The Alabama Montgomery Job Corps affiliate and its national parent organization assist local youth, ages 16 through 24, to improve their quality of life through vocational and academic training. In combination with hands on career training, participating students completed core classes to fulfill their graduation requirements.
James Madison High School has partnered with Job Corps since January 2010 as a preferred the provider of high school curricula for the program. Both JMHS and Ashworth College are leaders in accredited online education programs, offering a wide range of flexible career-focused diploma and degree programs.
Montgomery Job Corps is an important partnership for Ashworth, said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, Vice President of Education for both Ashworth College and James Madison High School. Its an honor to be able to take part in this special event.
Because our high school diploma programs have been developed to specifically address the needs of working adults and non-traditional high school students, were a natural fit for the Alabama Montgomery Job Corps program, she added. By helping these students earn a high school diploma, together were giving them significant career advantages, compared to not having a diploma or a GED.

SolarReserve, a Santa Monica, California based developer of large-scale solar power projects, has announced that it has closed financing for the 110 MW Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project, to be built near Tonopah, Nevada. The project is being constructed on federal land operated by the Bureau of Land Management and has been financed by both private and federal means. Adelante Healthcare currently operates seven health centers throughout Maricopa County, offering a wide array of services to patients of all economic backgrounds. We had to get away from lock and key, recalled Larry Kadin, Facilities and Purchasing Manager at Adelante. With keys, I dont know who has a key and how many copies may have been made. As a healthcare provider, Adelante must ensure their facilities and all data are protected in a highly secure manner.
Kadin and his team researched different access control providers, but after a Brivo representative provided a live demonstration of the Brivo ACS WebService technology to Kadin and staff from the HR and IT departments, It was an easy sell at that point. Ive not seen anything that comes close to what Brivo provides. And were certainly not going to change in mid-stream. Its great, with one call to Accel, everythings taken care of, explained Kadin referring to Adelantes initial decision and the roll-out of their upgraded access management.
To date, Adelante has installed Brivo access control on 18 doors, including internal doors to IT rooms, at their seven facilities. Going keyless has been great for our organization, we dont have security issues and breaches when we dont have all those keys out there, Kadin said. Now, weve got one person administering multiple sites from one web interfacethats huge for us. We have better records and better access to data, and we can provide needed information to other departments.
The Brivo system is a joy to work with. It saves us so much time compared to other systems we were looking at, said Kadin. The two biggest advantages for us have been the simplicity we have in setting Brivo up at a new site and the reach we have across all our facilities with just a few keystrokes. To date, Adelante has issued access cards to over 200 employees at their seven facilities with the Brivo system. In addition to managing employee access, outside janitorial staff and property management staff are also programmed into the system and issued cards which offer them access when and where needed.
The Brivo system makes my job easier and frees me up for other things. I know senior management needs to focus on bottom line cost, but there is so much more that this system does for you from a non-financial standpoint. Youd be surprised how often we use the system to check on activity like someone swiping out early. With Brivo, its easy to find out what we need, the system doesnt lie. The system is very easy to manage and we can focus our time on providing quality care to our patients. Kadin concluded.

Dry Creek Outfitters successfully kicked off 2012 by traveling to the Big Rock West Dealer Show the second week in January. The Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada hosted the show where vendors both displayed and sold their products to their dealers. Brad Perkins, founder of Dry Creek Outfitters, was able to travel to the show in both capacities. As a dealer and a vender, he is able to sell his Dry Creek Custom Baits as well as buy products from other vendors attending the show.

Conducted in partnership with Latino Decisions, a Washington DC based research firm, and impreMedia, these poll results provide a unique window into the minds of this influential Latina decision-maker and the key swing vote in states like Florida, Arizona, Colorado, and Nevada.
The survey was taken from a random sample of just over 300 Latina moms, who are registered Florida voters, and are between the ages of 18 and 60. The poll holds a +/- 5.49 margin-of-error. Names were selected from a list of all voters registered in the state and the poll was conducted by fully bilingual interviewers, in either English or Spanish, depending on the discretion of the respondent.
